Full Time Retail Sales Representative

MARS COVENIENCE STORES TEAM

Advantage Solutions is looking for a self-motivated and results driven Retail Sales Representative/Consultant, road warrior to work in the retail industry representing Mars Wrigley, the world’s leading manufacturer of chocolate, chewing gum, mints, and fruity confections. You will be working for the Client as a traveling Sales Rep.

This is a driving position that requires the use of your personal vehicle and the ability to drive to and from multiple convenience store locations throughout your workday.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Act as Account Manager for key convenience store account
  • Develop and leverage relationships with key decision makers
  • Educate store managers on merchandising by sharing data and analytics on sales volume, seasonal profits, and promotions to maximize their sales revenue
  • Increase sales volume through promotional activity by selling and building displays, creating themes with related items to support holiday/special promo events, and making plan-o-gram adjustments when necessary
  • Suggest items of value to build customer loyalty and identify opportunities for incremental display space to drive sales volume
  • Share samples of new product(s) with store personnel and develop a plan for where product(s) will be displayed
  • Ensure and increase proper product placement that delivers best visibility while supporting a positive brand image while ensuring all shelf signs are accurate and match the products
  • Scan all Mars Wrigley product to ensure all products are displayed in accordance with planogram(s) and merchandising display standards
  • Cross merchandise with incremental displays
  • Ensure all shelf signs are accurate and match the products
  • Take note of any out-of-stock merchandise and review with store managers prior to leaving store
  • Create impactful action plans and develop strategies to close sales gaps
  • Accurate and timely completion of sales data and reports

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent
  • Driver’s License and Auto Insurance in good standing
  • Previous retail sales experience preferred
  • Strong computer skills and daily Internet access
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) proficiency
  • Proficient with technology and comfortable using a company iPad or tablet
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to the ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, twist, reach overhead, stoop, squat repetitively and for long periods of time. Ability to repetitively push/pull and/or lift/carry at least 50 pounds.

Schedule:

  • Full Time and Permanent position. 40 hours per week guaranteed. Monday-Friday schedule, no nights or weekends, paid holidays. 8 hour per day with 30-minute lunch.

Responsibilities:

  • Report data on sales volume, seasonal profits, and sales revenue
  • Ensure product visibility by maintaining client project standards regarding tagging, rotating, and placing POS materials for products on shelf
  • Effectively manage executing on projects and standards at stores within your territory
  • Maintain customer and client relationships.
  • Holiday/special promo events, and plan-o-gram adjustments when necessary
  • Accurate and timely completion of reporting and paperwork

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Sales

  • Sell at store level “live orders” on multiple clients (>5 clients) in over 50% of their stores on the monthly basis.
  • Increase sales volume through promotional activity by selling and building displays, creating themes with related items to support holiday/special promo events, and making plan-o-gram adjustments when necessary.
  • Increase sales volume by constantly suggesting and completing orders for new and out-of-stock items.

Merchandising

  • Maintain client objectives by insuring all authorized client items represented on the shelf have accurate and complete tags and making certain that un-saleable or out-of-code product is removed.

Shelf Standards and Conditions:

  • Will work on the authorization of items to meet Client shelf schematic standards. Must be able to take direction regarding tagging, rotating, and placing POS materials for products on shelf.

Territory Management

  • Achieve client goals and objectives by effectively managing stores within your territory and executing projects and standards.
  • Increase brand representation and effectiveness through establishing and maintaining customer and client relationships.
  • Spend over 4-days per month in preparing and making wholesaler sub-group headquarter calls with a minimum of four sub-group calls.

Administration/Reporting

  • Will complete accurate and timely paperwork and reports, recaps, itineraries, timesheets, expense reports, etc.

Travel and/or Driving Requirements

  • Travel is not an essential duty and function of this job. Driving is an essential duty or function of this job.

Full Time Benefits:

  • After 30 days access to Medical, dental, and vision
  • After 90 days receive Pd floating holiday, Pd sick days, and start to accumulate Pd vacation days
  • After 1000 hours of accumulated time or 6 months of employment whichever comes first and they will have access to participate in the 401K plan.
